The communal nature of the facilities allows families
who are going through a similar experience to meet
and support each other, while the bedrooms are
spacious enough to allow families to enjoy their
privacy in comfort.

Above all, we offer parents a place to gain respite from the stressful
environment of the hospital. By offering this facility, we are offering a
place where the entire family can stay together, free of charge and
close to the hospital: helping families support each other and their ill
child in the best possible way.

How we Began
Ronald McDonald House opened its doors in November 2002.
We were funded initially by donations from the Ronald McDonald
House Charities
, the United Bristol Healthcare Trust and The
Grand Appeal
. We also receive incredibly generous support from
the British Kidney Patient Association.

We are now a fully independent charity relying on fundraising and
donations to meet our annual running costs in excess of £100,000
a year.
