Employees- Give through your payroll
If you earn a salary or your pension is paid via PAYE this is a great way to give- directly taken from your pre-tax pay- enabling us to receive what would normally go to the tax man. That means at a basic taxpayer’s rate, you would give £4 and we would receive £5. There’s no limit to how much you can give and once it’s been set-up there’s nothing more you have to do.
To set this up, fill out a GAYE form and give this to your payroll department. They will need to know our charity number – 1091342 – and our address- Royal Fort Rd, Bristol, BS2 8DH. Please also fill out a Buddy registration form so that we know who you are and can keep in touch with you.
Because Payroll giving is a regular source of income for Ronald McDonald House it means we can concentrate more on what we do and less on how we’re going to raise the funds to do it. We can plan for the long term, and take care of more families who desperately need the accommodation and support we provide.

Employers- Set up a scheme
Payroll Giving
If you’re not currently running a Give As You Earn scheme all you have to do is sign up with an approved Payroll Giving Agency, such as CAF www.cafonline.org. There’s plenty more information on Inland Revenue’s website, including how the government is currently providing cash incentives for small to medium businesses’ introducing Payroll Giving.
The key to making your Give As You Earn scheme a success is to regularly promote it to your staff. You may want to consider using a free Professional Fundraising Organisation (PFO) to help you or you may prefer to run your own internal promotions.
It’s simple to set up and maintain, it’s perceived to be valuable and appealing to employees and can boost staff morale and retention. It can also offer your business positive PR and encourages an ethically aware culture.
Matched Giving
Boost your scheme promotion and increase the value of your employees' giving by matching what they donate. You can match pound for pound what each of your employees give – click here for more details on matched giving, its tax benefits, and how it can better your business! |
